BIOGRAPHY

A Jazz Trombonist from New Zealand, Connor Gentry is one of New Zealand's most promising young jazz musicians. Connor first began his studies at the New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University of Wellington) and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance with First Class Honours and a Minor in Jazz Composition, whilst studying under the likes of Dr. Rodger Fox and Dr. Dave Lisik. In his time in New Zealand Connor went on to play or record with the Rodger Fox Big Band, The Julie Lamb Outfit, The Endeavour Jazz Orchestra New Zealand and more. Connor then moved to Graz, Austria in 2023 to pursue a Master's In Jazz Performance at Kunstuniversität Graz, studying under the likes of Luis Bonilla and Sigi Feigl. In his time at Graz, Connor has already established himself as an important part of the jazz scene. He has played with the likes of the JM Jazz World Orchestra, The Croatian Radio and Television Jazz Orchestra, Eddie Luis's Sunshine Orchestra, and more.
